Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Reference: See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the capacity of the fuel tank for your machine.
- Clean blue DEF tank filler cap (1) and the surrounding area.
- Remove the blue DEF tank filler cap.
- Fill the tank with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
Note: The key should be in the RUN position but the engine off.
Note: Two short beeps will be emitted by the backup alarm when the tank is 90 percent full.
Note: Do not fill the DEF tank from a contaminated container or funnel.
Note: Do not over fill the tank. DEF can freeze and needs room for expansion.
- Install the blue DEF tank filler cap.
