Look at the Oil Level

Hot oil can cause burns. At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and under pressure. Remove the fill cap ONLY when the engine is stopped, and the cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Remove the fill cap SLOWLY to relieve pressure. |

Backhoe - Position the machine on level ground, with the stick and bucket cylinders fully extended and the equipment lowered.
Clamshell - Position the machine on level ground with the stick cylinder fully extended and the clamshell bucket open on the ground.
- 1. Check the level with the hydraulic oil cold and the engine stopped.
- 2. Open the front access door on the right side.
- 3. The oil level should be between the FULL and the ADD marks on the sight gauge.
- 4. If necessary to add oil, pull the latch and open the fill cap access door.
- 5. Remove the cap slowly to relieve pressure. Add oil to the correct level.
- 6. Inspect the cap gasket. Replace it if it is damaged. Install the cap and close the access doors.
Boom and Stick
Lubricate the Fittings
Lubricate four fittings on top side of boom.
Lubricate two fittings at the head end of the boom cylinders.
Lubricate one fitting on the rod end of the stick cylinder.
Lubricate one boom bearing fitting.
Lubricate two fittings on the stick.
Backhoe Linkage
Lubricate the Fittings
Lubricate one fitting on the head end of the bucket cylinder.
Lubricate four fittings on the power link and one on the rod end of the bucket cylinder.
Swing Bearing
Lubricate the Fitting
Rotate the upper structure 720° (two full rotations). Stop at each 90° (1/4 turn) and lubricate the bearing through the fitting.
Lubricate until grease can be seen flowing from behind the bearing seal.
Air Conditioner (If Equipped)
Test Operation - Clean Filter
- 1. Start and run the engine at high idle.
- 2. Set the air conditioner controls on maximum and the fan on high.
Allow two minutes for the system to stabilize.
- 3. Turn the air conditioner off if poor cooling is experienced.
- 4. Stop the engine.
- 5. Remove and clean the air conditioner filter.
- 6. Wash it in clean warm water. Allow it to dry.
- 7. Install the filter.
- 8. If filter is not dirty, or if system does not operate properly after cleaning the filter, contact your AVSpare dealer.
