1.1. Setting the Gain/Response

The controllability of this machine can be changed in order to match the machine to a particular job. The controllability is changed by setting the gain and/or the response to different settings.

Gain - Gain is the relationship between the stroke of the joysticks or the travel levers/pedals and the operation speed of the actuators.

The gain can be adjusted to seven stages.

When you change the gain, it is possible to lengthen and it is possible to shorten the range of fine control of the joysticks or the travel levers/pedals.

Note: If the gain is set to the maximum setting, the speed of the actuators will become faster with only a small movement of the joysticks or the travel levers/pedals. This occurs because the range of fine control becomes minimum.

Note: If the gain is set to the minimum setting, the speed of the actuators will become slower even though the stroke of the joysticks widens or the stroke of the travel levers/pedals widens. This occurs because the range of fine control becomes maximum. However, when the stroke of the joysticks or the travel levers/pedals is maximum, the actuators can obtain maximum speed.

Response - Response specifies the response of the actuators to the operation of the joysticks or the travel levers/pedals.

It is possible to adjust the response to the three following stages:

  • Slow

  • Medium

  • Fast

With changing the response, it is possible to select the speed of your preference.

The gain/response switch is on the right console near the engine speed dial.

Gain/Response Switch (1) - Push this switch in order to change the controllability of the machine. There are three possible settings that can be chosen.

Gain/Response Indicator (2) - These indicators show the position of the gain/response switch.

The gain and response can be changed in order to meet the needs of the operator. Consult your AVSpare dealer in order to change the presets of the gain/response switch.

Soft - Select this mode for more controllability of the implements. The gain and response are initially set at the following values:

  • Gain is set at "4".

  • Response is set to "MEDIUM".

Normal - Select this mode for normal control of the implements. The gain and response are initially set at the following values:

  • Gain is set at "4".

  • Response is set to "FAST".

Note: NORMAL position cannot be changed to any other combination of gain and response.

Quick - Select this mode for quick control of the implements for fast cycle times. The gain and response are initially set at the following values:

  • Gain is set at "5".

  • Response is set to "FAST".
