Engine air filter service indicators (1) are mounted below the air cleaner in the right hand enclosure. The two indicators show the status of the engine air cleaner. Refer to the following procedure in order to check the status of the engine air filter service indicators.

    NOTICE

Service the air cleaner only with the engine stopped. Engine damage could result if the air cleaner is serviced while the engine is running.

  1. Check each of the engine air filter service indicators while the engine is running. If an indicator moves into the red zone, clean the primary filter element that corresponds to that indicator and replace the secondary filter element that corresponds to that indicator.

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Air Filter Primary Element - Clean/Replace" for more information on cleaning the primary filter element.

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Air Filter Secondary Element - Replace" for more information on replacing the secondary filter element.

  1. Clean the engine air precleaners. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Air Precleaner - Clean" for more information on cleaning the precleaners.

  1. Press the reset button on the bottom of the engine air filter service indicator after you service the air filters.

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Check the engine air filter service indicators again. If an indicator still moves into the red zone, replace the primary filter element that corresponds to that indicator.

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Air Filter Primary Element - Clean/Replace" for more information on replacing the primary filter element.
