5130B Excavator Bucket Link Pins - Lubricate

Only machines that are equipped with the mass excavator arrangement require manual lubrication of the bucket link pins.

Note: The bucket link pins on the front shovel are lubricated by the automatic lubrication system. Manual lubrication of these pins is not necessary.

  1. Rotate the valve handles on the lubricant supply lines to the configuration for manual lubrication. Refer to the Automatic Lubrication System Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Manual Lubrication Configuration for Mass Excavator Arrangement" for information on changing the configuration of the lubrication valves.

Location of the joints of the bucket link pins

  1. Each joint of the bucket link pins has 12 fittings. Apply lubricant through all 12 fittings with the grease gun until grease flows from the joint. Repeat for all eight joints.

  1. Clean grease gun (1) and install grease gun. Wind the lubrication hose around hose reel (2) .

  1. Rotate the valve handles on the lubricant supply lines to the configuration for automatic lubrication. Refer to the Automatic Lubrication System Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Manual Lubrication Configuration for Mass Excavator Arrangement" for information on changing the configuration of the lubrication valves.
