Hydraulic Quick Change Coupler with Single Effect (If Equipped)

Securing the Work Tool

------ WARNING! ------

Inspect the coupler wedge engagement before you operate the excavator.

Serious injury or death may result from an improperly engaged coupler.

Inspect coupler wedge engagement from the cab by rotating the bucket or the work tool inward. Extend the bucket cylinder to bring the coupler actuator into view and bring the stick in until the wedges are visible.

  1. Position the work tool on a level surface.

  1. Retract the bucket cylinder. Position the quick coupler in alignment between the hinges of the work tool.

  1. Move the stick forward and raise the stick until the lower bosses (9) engage the hinges (10) of the work tool.

  1. Press menu key (4). The screen for the main menu will appear.

  1. Press up key (1) or press down key (6) in order to highlight the menu for the quick coupler. Press OK key (8). The menu for the quick coupler will appear.

  1. Press right key (2) or left key (5) in order to highlight the UNLOCK option. Press set key (3) in order to select the option.

  1. The following message will be displayed:

        YES     NO        
               
                   

  1. Press right key (2) or left key (5) in order to select YES.

  1. Press set key (3) .

  1. Stall the bucket circuit momentarily in the fully retracted position. The wedge on the quick coupler will extend.

  1. Extend the bucket cylinder fully in order to rotate the quick coupler toward the work tool.

    Center bosses (11) must engage with the cut-out of the hinge.

  1. Press menu key (4). The screen for the main menu will appear.

  1. Press up key (1) or press down key (6) in order to highlight the menu for the quick coupler. Press OK key (8). The menu for the quick coupler will appear.

  1. Press right key (2) or left key (5) in order to highlight the LOCK option. Press set key (3) in order to select the option.

  1. The following message will be displayed:

  1. Press right key (2) or left key (5) in order to select YES.

  1. Press set key (3) .

  1. Stall the bucket circuit in the fully extended position. The springs and hydraulic pressure in the quick coupler will move the wedge into the locking area (12) .

  1. Raise the boom or raise the stick. The work tool is locked in place. The work tool is ready to use.

Releasing the Work Tool

------ WARNING! ------

Place the work tool or bucket in a safe position before disengaging the coupler. Disengaging the coupler will release the work tool or bucket from control of the operator.

Serious injury or death may result from disengaging the work tool or bucket when it is in an unstable position or carrying a load.

  1. Level the bucket or level the work tool on the ground.

  1. Retract the bucket cylinder fully in order to move the quick coupler toward the machine.

  1. Lower the stick and move the stick toward the machine in order to disengage the quick coupler.
