To lower the boom, place the hydraulic lockout control (lever) in the UNLOCKED position. Move the joystick to the BOOM LOWER position. If the accumulator is still charged, the boom will lower.
If the boom does not lower, the accumulator is empty. Use the following method to lower the boom.

Be sure no one is under or near the implements before manually lowering the boom. Keep all personnel away from the boom drop area when lowering the boom with the engine stopped in order to avoid possible personal injury |

Personal injury can result from oil under high pressure. DO NOT allow high pressure oil to contact skin. Wear appropriate protective equipment while working with high pressure oil systems. |

The boom manual lowering valve is located on the boom. |
- Connect a hose to boom manual lowering valve (1) .

- Slowly open boom manual lowering valve (1) by a maximum of 1/2 turn in order to lower the boom. Drain hydraulic oil into a suitable container.
- Make sure that the work tool has lowered all the way to the ground. Tighten boom manual lowering valve (1) to a torque of 13 ± 2 N·m (9 ± 1 lb ft).
- Make the necessary repairs before you operate the machine.
- Check the level of the hydraulic fluid. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level-Check".
