Backup Method for Controlling Engine Speed
If the control system does not work due to a malfunction and the engine speed cannot be adjusted by the engine speed dial, the following method will allow you to adjust the engine speed temporarily. Make repairs as soon as possible.
Check the message display for any error messages. If the error message "ECM ERROR" is displayed, there is a problem in the electronic controller. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Backup Controls".
If the engine speed cannot be adjusted by the engine speed dial and the indicator for the electronic controller does not come on, see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Backup Controls".
