Shear Capacity

The following table provides an overview of the profiles of steel that can be cut by the shear jaws and the tank shear jaws. The profiles are the most common profiles. The profiles are made of Tensile strength steel 370 MPa.

The dimensions of the profiles are the maximum dimension that can be safely cut. Consult your Verachtert dealer before you cut materials that are larger than the dimensions in the table. Consult your Verachtert dealer before you cut steel that has a rating that is higher than 520 MPa.

The dimensions of the steel profiles provide an indication of the cutting capability. The exact cutting capability depends on excavator operation pressure and performance, on the type of the steel, and on the condition of the steel, jaws, and cutters. Consult your Verachtert dealer before you cut materials that are not listed in the table.

Intended Use

The Multi-Processor can accept multiple jaw sets that provide exceptional cutting and crushing force.

  • The Multi-Processor with Primary Pulverizer Jaws, pulverizes concrete, cuts rebar and separates rebar from concrete.

  • The Multi-Processor with Secondary Pulverizer Jaws, recycles demolished concrete by pulverizing concrete, separating concrete and rebar, and cutting rebar as needed.

  • The Multi-Processor with Concrete Cutter Jaws, puts the maximum demolition force precisely where the force is needed, for fast efficient demolition work. The integral steel-cutting knives slice through rebar and pipe.

  • The Multi-Processor with Crusher Jaws, are for demolition of moderately reinforced concrete structures.

  • The Multi-Processor with Shear Jaws, demolishes steel structures and reduces steel scrap with high-strength reversible knives.

  • The Multi-Processor with Tank Shear Jaws, quickly cuts steel plate on barges, railway cars, grain, water, oil, and fuel tanks.
