Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury. Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak. |

Check valves in the hydraulic system may allow pressure to exist in the hydraulic lines after the engine has been stopped. Pressure must be relieved prior to servicing the components of the hydraulic system. Failure to relieve pressure prior to servicing may result in personal injury. |

Installation of the Work Tool
Note: Ensure that the work tool is compatible with the host machine. Consult your Verachtert dealer for information on matching the work tool to the host machine.
Note: After installing the work tool for the first time on the host machine, lubricate the rotator gear. Lubricate the rotator gear. Rotate the work tool 180 degrees. Lubricate the rotator gear again. Repeat the above procedure a total of three times.
After the initial lubrication of the rotator gear, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Maintenance Interval Schedule" for additional maintenance intervals.
Note: If the host machine is equipped with a Quick Coupler, consult the operating manual for the Quick Coupler before installing the work tool onto the host machine.
Note: Install the work tool onto the host machine on a surface that is level and solid.
- Clean all of the pins. Grease all of the pins.
- Move the stick of the host machine into position.

- Install all of the pins. Lock all of the pins.
Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the host machine for instructions in order to lock the pins properly.
- Raise the work tool away from the ground. Remove the transport lock. Refer to, "Transportation Information" for additional information. Extend the bucket cylinder and retract the bucket cylinder in order to check the movement of the work tool.
Note: Before you operate the multi-processor, the parts of the maintenance kit that are bolted onto the multi-processor frame must be removed.
- Stop the engine of the host machine. Cycle all of the hydraulic controls in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system.
- Clean all of the hydraulic fittings before installing the hydraulic fittings. Inspect all of the hydraulic fittings. Repair any damaged fittings. Replace any worn fittings. Connect all of the hydraulic hoses.
Note: Do not use quick disconnect fittings on the hydraulic lines.
Note: The auxiliary hoses for the hydraulic system are available for your machine. The hoses must be long enough to prevent any damage when the machine moves or the work tool is moved.
- Open the ball valves of the host machine. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the host machine for additional information.
- Start the engine of the host machine. Cycle the hydraulic controls. Check for any hydraulic leaks. Repair any hydraulic leaks.
Note: The work tool must move freely from the host machine. The auxiliary hoses should not get jammed.
- Position the work tool just above the ground.

Purge the hydraulic system of the work tool after the removal and installation of every hydraulic hose has been completed. If there is air in the hydraulic system under pressure, the oil can spontaneously ignite. Failure to purge the hydraulic system will result in damage to the work tool. |

- Open the jaw.
- Rotate the air release valve (1) counterclockwise in order to open the valve. Use 170-5603 Key to open the valve.

- Slowly close the jaw. Once the jaw is closed, allow oil to flow through the air release valve for approximately 30 seconds.
Note: Trapped air in the cylinder will flow back to the tank of the host machine.
- Slowly open the jaw. Once the jaw is open, allow the oil to flow through the air release valve for approximately 30 seconds.
- Rotate the air release valve (1) clockwise in order to close the valve. Use 170-5603 Key to close the valve.

Removal of the Work Tool
Note: If the host machine is equipped with a Quick Coupler, consult the operating manuals for the Quick Coupler before attempting to remove the work tool from the host machine.
- Rotate the jaws until both of the jaws are parallel to the ground.
- Open the jaw.
- Position the work tool just above the ground. Install the transport lock. Refer to, "Transportation Information" for additional information. Lower the work tool until the tool is on the ground.
- Stop the engine of the host machine. Cycle all of the controls in order to remove the pressure from the hydraulic system.
- Close the valves on the auxiliary lines.
- Place a suitable container under the hydraulic fittings. Remove the hydraulic fittings. Install the covers over the hydraulic fittings.
Note: Dispose of the oil in a proper manner.
- Remove the pins of the host machine.
- Start the engine on the host machine. Slowly move the stick away from the work tool.
Note: If the work tool is stored for an extended period, place grease in the bores of the work tool.
