Cutting Edge Bolts - Tighten

Wear Plates - Inspect/Replace
- On a machine, position the shear vertically with the fixed jaw on a flat and a level surface.
- Lock the jaws in an open position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cutters - Inspect/Replace" for the proper procedure.
- Check all of the bolts for the cutting edge group for the correct tightness. Refer to illustration 1.

- If necessary, tighten the bolts to the proper torque value. Refer to table 1 for the correct torque values.

The bolts should not move before a torque that is specified in table 1 is reached. If the bolt moves, then the bolt has been overstressed. The bolt must then be replaced.
