Installation Procedure

Hood Preparation

    (A) Weather strip seal

Note: The area below the radiator should have more air intake.

  1. Cut off 550 mm (21.65 inch) of the left side of the weather strip seal. Refer to Illustration 2 for the approximate location.

    Illustration 3g02172473

    Location of 337-8595 Insulation (25mm x 115mm x 25mm) (2)

There currently may be a gap (B) on the left or right side of the insulation.

  1. Remove existing insulation (BB) (left side of the firewall surface).

    Illustration 4g02172593

  1. Install insulation (2). Install the insulation so no gap is on either side.

Firewall Preparation

    Location of 337-8591 Insulation (50mm x 140mm x 25 mm) (3)

    Location of 337-8592 Insulation (40mm x 80mm x 25 mm) (4)

Note: Access the area by removing the bottom cover and the governor motor bracket.

  1. Fill the gap between the firewall and the governor motor bracket by sealing the bottom of the center firewall.

Adjust insulation (3) horizontally so the insulation is positioned as in Illustration 5 at (Z) .

Attach the insulation vertically to the bottom of the plate by overlapping by 35 mm (1.40 inch). The extra 15 mm (0.6 inch) will fill the gap toward the governor motor bracket.

  1. Fill the gap between the firewall and the frame by sealing the bottom end of the firewall center.

Adjust insulation (4) on the left side horizontally so the insulation comes in contact with the side of the radiator. The extra insulation on the right side should be attached firmly when installing the governor motor bracket.

Attach the insulation vertically to the bottom of the plate by overlapping 20 mm (0.8 inch). The extra 20 mm (0.8 inch) will fill the gap toward the frame.

    Location of 337-8593 Insulation (60mm x 90mm x 50mm) (5)

  1. Block the path between the cab and the firewall to block the heated air.

Adjust the insulation horizontally against insulation (4) .

Adjust the slit in the insulation to the bottom of the plate. The extra 20 mm (0.8 inch) will fill the gap toward the frame.

Radiator Preparation

    Location of 338-1170 Liner (40mm x 50mm x 25mm) (6) .

Note: The counterweight has been removed in the Illustration above, removing the counterweight during the rework is not necessary. The work can be performed from the upper side, or from the bottom with the bottom cover removed.

  1. Attach liner (6) on the existing insulation. Fill the gap toward the back-end frame.

  1. Install insulation (8) to seal the gap toward the shroud.

    Illustration 11g02173273

  1. Check if a gap (R) is present around the air hose. If a gap is present, loosen hose clamp (S) and adjust the hose. Confirm there is no deviation in the insulation.

    Location of 338-6792 Insulation (60mm x 80mm x 25mm) (9)

Note: The notched corner of the insulation goes around the radiator mounting bolt.

  1. Install insulation (9) on the existing liner on the radiator side. Adjust the insulation to the radiator support with no space on the down side.

    Illustration 13g02173350

    Location of 331-9868 Insulation (90mm x 140mm x 10mm) (10)

Note: Insulation (10) is included on high ambient configurations. To install on standard machines, access the area of the machine by removing the bottom cover.

  1. Install insulation (10) around the harness.

High Ambient Configuration
