PROBLEM
Two plugs need to be removed from the hydraulic oil cooler fan motor on certain 385C Excavators. The existing 4B-3665 Bearings can fail due to lack of lubrication of the fan drive shaft. |

Removing the two 137-3780 Plugs from the hydraulic oil cooler fan motor insures proper lubrication of the drive shaft. The two existing 4B-3665 Bearings need to be replaced with two new 4B-3665 Bearings. Refer to the attached Rework Procedure. |

1) Put air vacuum tooling on the hydraulic tank. 2) Remove the 236-9401 Cover. |

3) Remove the 225-4614 or 200-3252 Hydraulic Oil Cooler Fan Motor. 4) Clean the 209-6063 Shaft and remove the two 137-3780 Plugs. |

5) Remove the top fan guard. 6) Remove the fan fixed to the fan drive. 7) Take out the 200-3313 Fan Drive. 8) Remove and replace the two 4B-3665 Bearings by removing the two 6V-5590 and 095-7424 Rings. 9) Clean and lube before reassembly. 10) Change the 137-3751 and 4M-0189 Seal. 11) Reassemble fan and fan drive using three 8T-4139 Bolts and a new special folded 139-8753 Lockwasher. Tighten to a torque of 100 +/-20 Nm. 12) Fix fan drive and motor using two NEW 8T-4194 Bolts and 8T-4223 Washers. Tighten to a torque of 100 +/-20 Nm. 13) Fix the fan guard using five 8T-4195 Bolts and 7X-7729 Washers. Tighten to a torque of 55 +/-10 Nm. 14) Fix the 236-9401 Cover six 135-8573 Bolts. Tighten to a torque of 100 +/-20 Nm. 15) Remove the air vacuum tooling. |
