This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS42254" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Before Failure: Cab window latch may not properly engage in vent position. Use attached rework procedure to rework latch. Use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code.

After Failure: Cab windows may inadvertently open from vent position during operation or roading causing glass breakage or other resultant damage. Use attached rework procedure to rework latch. Replace broken glass as resultant damage. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.

Rework Procedure

1. Place window latch in vent position as shown in picture below. Window latch consists of handle (1), keeper (2), 131-3987 screws (3), and 177-4877 shims (4). Shims may not be installed on all window latch assemblies.

2. Apply light pressure against window.

3. If latch holds window in vent position, no rework is required. If latch does not hold window in vent position, proceed to step 4.

4. Remove the two 131-3987 screws from the keeper for the window latch.

5. With the window in the vent position, relocate the keeper toward handle in direction of arrow A to achieve 9+/-2mm engagement at point B.

6. Mark the positions for the new holes.

7. Use the 9/64 inch (3.5mm) drill bit in order to drill two new holes at the marked positions.

8. Reinstall keeper and 177-4877 shims (as needed) using the two 131-3987 screws and tighten. Cab window sealing may be reduced due to moving the keeper for rework. If necessary, shims may be used to improved cab window sealing.
