This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS42269" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Rework Procedure

1.Locate the CE plate, which is installed on the machine serial number plate. The serial number plate is located on the LHS of the machine on the loader tower. See images 1.1.1 & 1.1.2.

2.Check the engine power rating stamped on the CE plate against the table shown in image 1.2.1. This is the NET installed power, not the gross engine power rating. Note: The 428E has two engine options. Make sure the correct information is used based on the engine option installed in the machine.

3.If the power rating on the CE plate for the machine is as listed under the "New CE Plate Power", no further action is required. If the power rating stamped on the plate is as listed under the "Old CE Plate Power", a new plate needs to be created and fixed to the machine.

If a new CE plate is required.

4.Engrave a new CE plate using data from the table shown above (Image 1.2.1). Use the figures from the "New CE Plate Power" column for the power figure. Refer to Image 1.3.1 for correct location of the engraved figures.

5.Clean the surface of the existing CE plate on the machine to remove any dirt or grease. There is no need to remove the existing CE plate.

6.Stick the new CE plate directly on top of the existing plate. Press the plate down firmly to ensure good adhesion.
