When reporting the repair, use "PI31198" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI31198" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM

The 139-8736 Engine Mounts may have been incorrectly molded. The metallic flange may have been positioned upside down causing limitation in rubber compression under the engine weight.
The 139-8736 Engine Mounts are the two lower mounts located at the rear sides of the engine (hydraulic pump side) on 330D and 345C Excavators.

Inspect the 139-8736 Engine Mounts that are in dealer parts stock. Refer to the images shown in the attached Rework Procedure in order to determine if the engine mount was manuafactured correctly. Machines that were repaired during July 2006 and September 2006 using the 139-8736 Engine Mounts,

wrongly molded with the metallic flange positioned upside down could have been sent from Parts Service to Dealers during July 2006 ? September 2006 time frame.
Inspection of 139-8736 Dealer parts stock is recommended.
Refer to the images shown in the rework procedure in order to determine of the mount that the dealer has is good or not.
Machines that have been repaired with 139-8736 mounts supplied during July 2006 ? September 2006 have also to be inspected.

MODELS INVOLVED - 330D And 345C Excavators

Dear AVSpare Product Owner:

The two lower 139-8736 Mounts located at the rear sides of the engine (hydraulic pump side) may have the internal metallic flange positioned upside down causing limitation in rubber compression under the engine weight on the products listed below. Some machines already in the field could have bad mount and require mount inspection and replacement. You will not be charged for the service performed.

Contact your local AVSpare dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.

Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 07Dec2006 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure

Inspection procedure:
When the normal torque of 900 Nm is applied on the 7X-2567 Holding Bolt; check the distance between the rubber mount shoulder and the frame.
A correct mount has a distance of about 5mm.
An incorrect mount has a distance of about 10mm.
Normal access to the mount is through the bottom guard. On 345C, the mount next to the hydraulic tank can be inspected from pump compartment.

Rework procedure:
If one mount is found bad according to the inspection procedure,
replace both 139-8736 Engine Mounts (hydraulic pump side mounts).
Refer to the Disassembly And Assembly Manual, RENR8647, for the 330D Excavators or Disassembly and Assembly Manua, RENR8611, for the 345C Excavators.
