PROBLEM
Show/hide table
The 259-5049 Wiring Group (for cold weather machines) and the 259-5040 Wiring Group (for standard machines) need to be inspected or reworked on certain 320D Excavators. The existing 267-8034 Cable Assembly (for cold weather machines) or 267-8016 Cable Assembly (for standard machines) can interfere with the sheetmetal. It can cause machine failure or fire, possibly causing personal injury or death. |

Park the machine. Refer to the Operation And Maintenance Manual, SEBU7867. Inspect 267-8034 CABLE AS as shown area 1 and area 2. |
![]() |
Image1.1.1 |
The area 1 clearance between the cable as and sheetmetal needs to be more than 20 mm. |
![]() |
Image1.2.1 |
The area 2 clearance between the cable as and sheetmetal needs to be more than 20 mm. |
![]() |
Image1.3.1 |
If the clearance between the cable as and sheetmetal is more than 20 mm both in the area 1 and area 2, no further rework is required. If the clearance between the cable as and sheetmetal is less than 20 mm but no interference in the area 1 or area 2, proceed to the cable routing rework procedure. If there is slight interference between the cable as and sheetmetal and the cable as insulation had damaged in the area 1 or area 2, proceed to the cable repair procedure. If there are interference between the cable as and sheetmetal and the cable as core material had damaged in the area 1 or area 2, proceed to the cable change procedure. |
Cable Routing Rework Procedure If the area 1 clearance between the cable as and sheetmetal is less than 20 mm. |
