This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10576" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code.
Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI10576" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.



PROBLEM

The existing wiring harness on certain 325D, 330D, 345C, and 385CL Excavators (Demolition Core) needs to be modified to prevent the disconnection of the stability alarm. Unintended and/or unnoticed disconnection of this alarm could lead to incorrect operation of the machine with the loss of machine stability with the potential for serious injury or death.

Unintended and/or unnoticed disconnection of this alarm could lead to incorrect operation of the machine with the loss of machine stability with the potential for serious injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.

Contact your local AVSpare dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.

Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 15Feb2007 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure


 
In cab, at rear of RH armrest, disconnect and cut the two terminals connected to 283-3074 Switch in cab (switch is located in rear central position, 568-GN & H414-YL wires).
There should be also two (325D, 330D and 345C) or three other (365C, 385C) switches located in this area (on the first row of plate towards front of machine). These are used for back-up mode. Do not disconnect or remove any of these switches.

Remove 283-3074 Switch (located in rear central position).

Add 7Y-3966 Terminal As.(assembly of 7Y-3962 Male Terminal & 7Y-3964 Tube) on 568-GN wire and 7Y-3967 Terminal As. (assembly of 7Y-3963 Female Terminal & 7Y-3965 Tube) on H414-YL Wire.
Connect the two terminals and reroute bundle under platform.
Use 3S-2093 Straps to secure bundle on console harness.

Insure correct function of warning device.

Position machine with front parts "over the front" in vertical position (fore boom and stick cylinders fully retracted).
Carefully action boom down lever: buzzer should be heard when demolition front parts are positioned such as angle between boom and upper frame is greater than threshold angle. This angle equals 20 degrees on 325D, 25 degrees on 330D, 345C and 365C and 15 degrees on 385C (40m).
