This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS42423" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The 6V-8200 Bolts that secure the motor to the mounting are not long enough. When the bolts are tightened, they do not protrude through the 6v-7687 Locknut in order to allow this locknut to be effective.

Replace the 6V-8200 Bolts with longer 8T-0273 Bolts. This longer bolt will allow the threads to engage correctly with the locking nut. Refer to the attached Rework Procedure.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.

Rework Procedure

Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR5838, for disassembly and assembly procedures.

Remove the broom group assembly with broom drive motor from the broom frame.
With the broom group removed follow the procedure to remove the motor. It may be necessary to remove the broom bearing from the opposite end of the broom core to allow the removal of 4 or 5 bristle sections. You can then slide the bristle sections along the core to give better access to the nut and cotter pin retaining the motor.

You can now access the fasteners that secure the motor to the housing as shown in image 1. Remove the 4 bolts and replace with new 8T-0273 Bolts and new 6V-7687 Locknuts.
When installing the motor it will be necessary to remove the plug from the upper side of the motor to allow you to fit the bolt into the top hole. Install this top bolt and then replace the plug, see image 1.3.1. This needs to be done before placing the motor into the housing.

With the new bolts installed tighten them to the correct torque. Fit the motor group back onto the broom core and install the slotted nut, tighten the nut to a torque of 110 +/- 10 Nm. If the holes do not allign to locate the cotter pin tighten nut further until you can get the cotter pin to locate. DO NOT LOOSEN THE NUT TO GET CORRECT ALLIGNMENT.
Install the broom group back into the frame.
