This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10767" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code.
Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI10767" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The stick cylinder rod must be replaced on certain M313C, M315C, and M316C Wheeled Excavators. The existing cylinder rod can suddenly crack in front of the piston, allowing the stick to swing uncontrollably, which could lead to personal injury or death.

This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.

ACTION REQUIRED

1) Release the pressure in the stick cylinder according to the appropriate Disassembly and Assembly Manual.
2) Disconnect the two hydraulic ports on the cylinder, and capture the hydraulic oil in a clean container.
3) Loosen and remove the 8 bolts holding the cylinder head to the cylinder assembly.
4) Remove the pin holding the cylinder rod to the stick. Use the container to capture all the hydraulic oil in the cylinder, and remove the entire rod and head assembly.
5) Install the repair kit. Install the 8 bolts, which are part of the kit, and tighten to a torque of 340 +/- 40Nm (250 +/- 30lbft) for M16 bolts or 460 +/- 60 Nm (340 +/- 45lbft) for M20 bolts. Attach the lines to both ports.
6) Start the machine and cycle the cylinder 10 times at engine low idle and half lever to remove the air from the cylinder.
7) Control the hydraulic oil level, using the hydraulic oil in the container(s) to reach the recommended level.
