The bolts that holding Swing Gear Bearing may loosen on certain 320D and 330D Excavators. The torque needs to be checked on these bolts and they need to be tightened if necessary to prevent extensive damage to the swing gear bearing group.

Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR8614 and RENR8648, for the swing gear bearing removal and installation, for 320D and 330D respectively.

320D Model
The (40) 8T0360 and (37) 8T0362 Bolts that hold Swing Gear Bearing in the carbody and upper frame need to be inspected to verify that bolts are tightened with the correct torque 568 +/- 59 Nm (419 +/- 44 lb ft). For bolts tightened to a torque less than 509 Nm (375 lb ft) the correct torque of 568 +/- 59 Nm (419 +/- 44 lb ft) must be applied.

330D Model
The (46) 6V8132 and (42) 8T0670 Bolts that hold swing gear bearing in the carbody and upper frame need to be inspected to verify that bolts are tightened with the correct torque of 900 +/- 100 Nm (665 +/- 75 lb ft). For bolts tightened to a torque less than 800 Nm (590 lbft) the correct torque 900 +/- 100 Nm (665 +/- 75 lb ft) must be applied.
