NOTE:

This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10698" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code.
Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI10698" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

An oversized locknut may have been assembled in some cylinders on certain 330D MH, 345C, and 345D Excavators. The oversized locknut can introduce contamination in the hydraulic system resulting in unwanted or unexpected movement that may cause injury or death.

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 40% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.

Inspect affected cylinders to determine build date. The date, in format MMDDYY, is stamped near the head end of the cylinder. If the date code is greater than 042008, STOP USING THE MACHINE and attach a SEHS7332 "DO NOT OPERATE" tag to the joystick. This tag is to instruct and remind machine operators and maintenance personnel not to operate the machine.

The SEHS7332 "Do Not Operate" Warning Tag can be ordered through AVSpare Media Logistics by calling 1-800-566-7782.

This is an interim corrective action until a permanent corrective action is implemented. AVSpare is currently working on a solution to this issue. Until the permanent repair procedure is developed, do not operate machine.
