The existing counterweight assembly can become dented on certain 324D FM, 325D FM, and 330D FM Excavators. The recipe of the fill material was too dense and therefore allowed the counterweight to be filled with an incorrect volume of material. If the existing counterweight experiences contact with another object, it can become severely dented and require replacement.

NOTE: The weight of these counterweights is not affected by this issue. The weight of the counterweights is correct, even though the volume of fill material may have changed.

If the counterweight assembly becomes dented due to the counterweight being filled with an incorrect volume of material, the counterweight will need to be replaced. Prior to replacing the counterweight, please refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, KENR5988, "Counterweight - Removal and Install".

NOTE: The new counterweight assembly will need to be prepped for paint, painted, and have all the necessary films installed prior to being installed on to the machine.

Note: Counterweight assemblies are Direct Shipped and will require approximately a six week lead time. Please plan counterweight repairs accordingly.
