Problem

The displacement of the 468-5316 Pipe As and the 482-1929 Pipe As may exist on the machines that are listed above. Refer to Illustration 1 for an example of the displacement.

If there is not enough clearance between the pipes, the pipes could come in contact with each other and possibly break. A minimum clearance of 18 mm (0.71 inch) should exist between the lower pipe surface and the flare bottom edge of the upper pipe. If the clearance of the two pipes does not exist, refer to the following procedure to adjust the pipes for the proper clearance.

Solution

  1. Measure the clearance between the pipes. Refer to Illustration 2 for the location of the measurement. The clearance should be maintained at more than 18 mm (0.71 inch). If the clearance is less than 18 mm (0.71 inch), move to step 2. If the clearance is more than 18 mm (0.71 inch), you do not need to do anything.

  2. If the location of the pipes needs adjusted, loosen the four 8T-4908 Bolts which mount the 482-1929 Pipe As (304E2 CR) or 482-1928 Pipe As (305/305.5E2 CR).

  3. Turn the 482-1929 Pipe As (304E2 CR) or 482-1928 Pipe As (305/305.5E2 CR) to adjust the clearance between the pipes to be more than 18 mm (0.71 inch).

Note: The 418-1511 Gasket may be required when turning the pipe assembly.

The 418-1511 Gasket is a part for between the 482-1929 Pipe As (304E2 CR) or 482-1928 Pipe As (305/305.5E2 CR) and DPF mount.
