  1. Measure the piston pin bore I.D. in the horizontal and vertical directions with a cylinder gauge.

    Allowable Limit  25.05 mm (0.9862 inch) 

  2. Measure the small end bushing inside diameter with an internal micrometer.

    Piston pin outside diameter (New)  25.004 mm (0.98441 inch) to 25.011 mm (0.98468 inch) 

  3. Calculate the oil clearance.

    Oil clearance between piston pin outside diameter and small end bushing (New)  0.014 mm (0.00056 inch) to 0.036 mm (0.0014 inch) 
    Allowable limit  0.15 mm (0.0059 inch) 

  4. If the oil clearance is more than the allowable limit, replace the bushing.

  5. If the oil clearance stays more than the allowable limit, replace the piston pin also.
