There are five solenoid valves (1) in the pilot manifold. The dual pressure solenoid valve increases the system pressure during travel. The swing parking brake solenoid valve controls the swing parking brakes. The solenoid valve for the bucket bottom dump open controls the function of the bottom dump open. The solenoid valve for the bottom dump close controls the function of the bottom dump close. The solenoid valve for the travel parking brake controls the travel parking brakes.

(6) Line to load sensing signal relief valve

Dual pressure solenoid valve (5) supplies pilot oil to the load sensing signal relief valve in order to increase system pressure for travel.

When travel pilot valves are not actuated, dual pressure solenoid valve (5) is nonenergized. A nonenergized solenoid valve blocks pilot oil from flowing to the load sensing signal valve. When line (6) to the load sensing signal relief valve is vented to the tank drain, the relief valve for the load sensing signal regulates the main system pressure to a pressure of 31000 kPa (4500 psi) maximum.

When the travel pilot valves are activated, an electrical signal is sent to the machine control module. The machine control module will send an electrical signal to solenoid valve (5) if the ladder is in the stowed position and if there are no implements that are actuated. When solenoid valve (5) is energized, pilot oil flows to the load sensing signal valve. The pilot oil signals the load sensing signal relief valve in order to regulate the main system pressure to a maximum pressure of 35000 kPa (5075 psi).

Swing parking brake solenoid valve (7) controls pilot oil flow to the swing parking brakes. During operation, swing parking brake solenoid valve (7) is nonenergized. A nonenergized swing parking brake solenoid valve (7) returns the pilot oil from the swing parking brake line to the drain passage for the hydraulic tank. When the swing pilot valve is actuated, an electrical signal is sent to the machine control module. If the ladders are in the stowed position, an electrical signal is sent from the machine control module which energizes swing parking brake solenoid valve (7). When swing parking brake solenoid valve (7) is energized, pilot oil is supplied to swing parking brake line (8). Pilot oil in swing parking brake line (8) releases the swing parking brakes. The swing parking brakes are located on the swing drives.

Solenoid valve (9) for the bucket bottom dump open controls the pilot oil flow to the control valve for the bucket bottom dump. During operation, solenoid valve (9) for the bucket bottom dump open is nonenergized. A nonenergized solenoid valve (9) for the bucket bottom dump open returns the pilot oil from bottom dump line (10) to the drain passage for the hydraulic tank. When an electrical signal from the right trigger switch energizes solenoid valve (9) for the bucket bottom dump open, pilot oil is supplied to bottom dump line (10). Pilot oil in bottom dump line (10) moves the control spool for the bottom dump. This allows hydraulic oil to flow into the rod end of the bottom dump cylinders which opens the bucket.

Solenoid valve (11) for the bottom dump close controls pilot oil flow to the control valve for the bottom dump. During operation, solenoid valve (11) for the bottom dump close is nonenergized. A nonenergized solenoid valve (11) for the bucket bottom dump close returns the pilot oil from bottom dump line (12) to the drain passage for the hydraulic tank. When an electrical signal from the left trigger switch energizes solenoid valve (11) for the bucket bottom dump close, pilot oil is supplied to bottom dump line (12). Pilot oil in bottom dump line (12) moves the control spool for the bottom dump. This allows hydraulic oil to flow into the head end of the bottom dump cylinders which closes the bucket.

(14) Line to travel parking brakes

Solenoid valve (13) for the travel parking brakes controls pilot oil flow to the travel parking brakes. During operation, solenoid valve (13) for the travel parking brake is nonenergized. A nonenergized solenoid valve (13) for the travel parking brake returns the pilot oil from line (14) for the travel parking brake to the drain passage for the hydraulic tank. When the travel pilot valve is actuated, an electrical signal is sent to the machine control module. If the ladders are in the stowed position, an electrical signal is sent from the machine control module which energizes solenoid valve (13) for the travel parking brake. When the solenoid valve for the travel parking brake is energized, pilot oil is supplied to line (14) for the travel parking brake. Pilot oil in line (14) for the travel parking brake releases the travel parking brakes. The travel parking brakes are located on the final drives.
