The starting system and the charging system consist of the following circuits:
- "Power Circuit"
- "Start and Stop Circuit"
- "Starting Aid Circuit"
- "Charging Circuit"
- "Low Current Circuit"
Note: The electrical circuits can only be activated when the disconnect switch is in the ON (1) position.
Power Circuit
The power circuit supplies power to the electrical components of the machine. The components of the power circuit include the following items:
- Battery (2)
- Disconnect switch (1)
- Alternator circuit breaker (4)
- Main breaker (31)
- Main relay (5)
Start/Stop Circuit
The start/stop circuit consists of the following components:
- Starter motor (19)
- Starter relay (20)
- Timer relay (29)
- Starter switch (11)
- Engine ECM (10)
- Neutral start relay (30)
- Neutral start switch (12)
Starting Aid Circuit
Some machines are equipped with starting aid for cold weather starting purposes. The starting aid circuit consists of the following components:
- Starting aid switch (27)
- Start aid solenoid (26)
- Engine coolant temperature switch (25)
Charging Circuit
The charging circuit uses an alternator (21) to charge the batteries (2). This circuit supplies power to the machine through a fuse panel (6) .
Low Current Circuit
The low current circuit distributes power to several low current components. A switch panel (24) energizes lights (15). Lights are installed in the chassis, on the cab and on the boom. The circuit supplies power to the following components:
- Radio (8)
- Cigar lighter (9)
- Cab heater (14)
- Air conditioner (14)
- Windshield washer (17)
- Horn (22)
