NEW 973C/963C TIER II UNDERCARRIAGE

 The 973C Tier II and 963C Tier II hydrostatic loaders are in production with improved undercarriage.  These improvements include a new (Hybrid) link assembly and tough steel sprocket segments, which can lower machine owning and operating (O&O) cost.  The new Hybrid link assembly is a consolidation of the best features of (3) current production link assemblies.  These include the former 973 & 963 Hystat (EWL), D7 & D6 Oval SALT, and D7H &D6H Elevated SALT.  The following is a list of features and benefits of the new improved undercarriage:

Effective Serial Numbers

 The new Hybrid Link Assembly and Segments are effective on the machine from the factory with the following serial numbers:(

973C Tier II-- BCP0001 & UP

963C Tier II-- BBD0001 & UP

 

Adaptability/Servicing

 

973C Improved Undercarriage

?        The new Hybrid track link is slightly taller than the former link, the working clearance between the link rail and pin boss is the same.  So, the link/roller system wear life remains the same.

?        The new link assembly maintains the same inner and outer link spreads.  Therefore, it is compatible with the current track roller, idlers and carrier rollers.  The track pin length is the same, so the new link assembly is interchangeable with existing loader end guide guards.

?        The new link assembly shoe bolt pattern and bolt size are the same, allowing interchangeability with current 7/8? bolt hole track shoes.

?        With the Hybrid consolidation improvements, individual piece parts within the link assembly are not interchangeable.

?        Former segments must not be used with new link assembly with the larger bushing.

?        The new Tough Steel sprocket segments have a different geometry than former segments, so new and former segments must not be mixed.

?        The segment mounting hardware remains the same.


 

 

963C Improved Undercarriage

?        The new Hybrid track link is the same height as the former link, the working clearance between the link rail and pin boss is the same.  So, the link/roller system wear life remains the same.

?        The new link assembly maintains the same inner and outer link spreads.  Therefore, it is compatible with the current track roller, idlers and carrier rollers.  The track pin length is the same, so the new link assembly is interchangeable with existing loader end guide guards.

?        The new link assembly shoe bolt pattern and bolt size are the same, allowing interchangeability with current 3/4? bolt hole track shoes.

?        With the Hybrid consolidation improvements, individual piece parts within the link assembly are not interchangeable.

?        The segment mounting hardware remains the same.

 

 

973C Tier II & 963C Tier II U/C Options Available

 

?        The new Tier II loaders are available from the factory and current field machines may also be retrofitted with the following:

  • Hybrid Track Link Assembly (factory standard)
  • Rotating Bushing Track (RBT) Link Assembly (factory option); Track for high abrasion, low to moderate impact applications that eliminate the need for a bushing turn.  RBT track life is limited to 4000 hours.

?        Factory machines come with new wider guiding guards to accept the longer RBT track pin.

?        Field machines require (1) removal of existing guide guards wear strips, or (2) new guiding guards to allow field retrofit of RBT.  Refer to the 4th Edition PSK (Media Number PECP3003-03) for new end guide parts for conversion to RBT see the following pages:

Part Number Information

 

Refer to 4th Edition of the PSK (Media Number PECP3003-03) for the new link assembly and segment for the 963C machine.  See Attachment I for new link assembly and segment for the 973C machine.  The Track Roller Groups, Carrier Roller Group, and Idler Assembly are common components with the previous 973C/963C machines.
