NEW HYBRID TRACK FOR TRACTORS, LOADERS AND SKIDDERS 7.50? (190.0mm) PITCH

 The new Hybrid track is available for the following specific machine models:

Track Type Loader

953C Tier II

Elevated Sprocket Tractor

D5H

Elevated Sprocket Skidder

D5H TSK

The new 7.5? pitch Hybrid link assembly is a consolidation of the best features of (2) current production Sealed & Lubricated Track link assemblies. These are the 953 Hystat (EWL SALT) and D5H Elevated (SALT). The new features of this track will help lower machine Owning & Operating (O & O) costs. The 6.91? pitch 953 EWL link assembly still remains as parts service for earlier 953 loaders.   

Benefits of the new Hybrid track will be different, based on the machine model involved. The following is a list of Hybrid track features and benefits, per specific machine model.

Adaptability/Serviceability

 

Hystat Loader: 953C Tier II

?        The new 7.5? pitch Hybrid track and new tough steel sprocket segments are factory standard on 953C Tier II Hystat track loaders (reference IRM UC04 ? 04).

?        The new 7.5? pitch Hybrid track and (5) five tooth sprocket segments will not retrofit to earlier 953, 953B, and 953C (pre-Tier II) loaders. This is due to a new final drive bolt pattern required for the new segments. So, the former 953 (6.91? pitch) EWL link assembly, shoes, and sprocket segments are still maintained for parts service. 

?        The new Hybrid link assembly fits onto current 953C EWL track rollers, idlers, and carrier rollers.

?        Due to the different pitch, the new Hybrid link assembly uses different shoes and mounting bolts. The shoe bolt pattern is now the same as the D5H SALT link assembly. A complete list of shoes for the new link assembly is attached.

?        Due to the Hybrid consolidated improvements, individual piece parts within the link assembly are not interchangeable.

 

Elevated Sprocket Tractors and Skidders: D5H, D5H TSK

?        The new Hybrid track is adaptable to D5H tractors and D5H track skidders.

?        The new link assembly maintains the same inner and outer link spreads, and fits onto current D5H track rollers, idlers, and carrier rollers. The track pin length is the same, so the new link assembly is interchangeable within existing D5H & D5H TSK end, center, and full-length track guiding guards.

?        The new track bushing has the same outside diameter. The current sprocket segments and mounting hardware are the same.

?        The shoe bolt pattern and mounting hardware are the same. So, current shoes and hardware are interchangeable.

?        Due to the Hybrid consolidated improvements, individual piece parts within the link assembly are not interchangeable.

Custom Track Service (CTS)

Hystat Loader: 953C Tier II

?        The new Hybrid link has the same allowable wear material as the former 953 EWL link. The new link is slightly taller and the bushing bore slightly larger, so a new link CTS wear chart is required. It is on page 444 in the 15th of the edition Custom Track Service handbook.

?        The new, larger bushings will improve bushing wear life. The new Hybrid bushing wear chart is on page 447 in the 15th edition of the Custom Track Service handbook.

?        The new, five tooth tough steel segments incorporate the improved tip profile of the former (6.91? pitch) segments. This reduces early hour cosmetic sprocket ?tip roll-over? wear (Reference IRM UC01-02).

?        Current 953 CTS wear charts are used for all other undercarriage components (shoes, rollers, idlers, carrier rollers).

 

Elevated Sprocket Tractors and Skidders: D5H, D5H TSK

?        The new Hybrid track has a taller link, providing approximately 20% more wear life over the D5H SALT link. A new link CTS wear chart is required, and is on page 444 in the 15th edition of the Custom Track Service handbook and in software program CTS version 5.5.

?        The new bushing is the same diameter, but a new CTS wear chart is attached due to different depth gage wear measurements. The new bushing wear chart is on page 447 in the 15th edition of the Custom Track Service handbook and in software program CTS version 5.5.

?       Since sprocket segments are the same, the current D5H segment wear chart is used.

?       The allowable wear material for the Hybrid link is the same as the D5H & D6M/N Heavy Duty and RBT track link. So, current D5H rollers, idlers, and carrier rollers will also have approx. 20% more wear life when matched with the new, taller Hybrid link. The ?Heavy Duty & RBT track? CTS wear charts for the track roller, carrier roller, and idler should be used to allow this extra wear life. These charts are in the D5H section of the 15th edition of Custom Track Service handbook and in software program CTS version 5.5.
