LOW VOLUME NEW ENGINE STRATEGY RATIONALIZATION

Strategy Changes
In order to provide optimum product coverage and flexibility of service options, there has been some rationalization of the products that will continue to be produced and offered as new. Certain low volume engine arrangements are being discontinued and replaced with lower level service options such as Long Blocks or Short Blocks that will be available through the Cat? Reman product offering. The engine arrangements effected by this change are those listed in the below tables. All items highlighted light green are Reman options currently released and available for ordering. Items in yellow are part numbers still in process but becoming available soon. Gray indicates no plans to offer a direct replacement service option. Options for those would be to service with piece parts or to possibly modify a similar Reman option. If there are questions about feasibility of these modifications, please contact the Reman Technical Helpline for assistance.
Core Acceptance
Reman options are sold with a core deposit and require the return of an acceptable core for a refund of the core deposit. The following Core Acceptance Criteria are available supporting these products. Core Management
Please refer to the Cat Core Management Information System (CMIS 2) related to the parts information application that describes all Reman part/Core Acceptability Family (CAF) and other related information. Also, refer to other CMIS 2 inquiry applications such as: Dealer Customer Profile, Inspection Reason Codes, Inspection Line Inquiry, Dealer Add Charges, Dealer Entitlement Activity, Dealer CCR Inquiry, Dealer CCR Entry, Dealer Shipment Processing, Dealer Process Packaging Grief and Reporting. This information is available to all dealers worldwide that have been converted to CMIS 2.
