AVS REMAN ANNOUNCES AN ADVANCED SALVAGE TECHNIQUE WHICH WILL AFFECT THE APPEARANCE OF CERTAIN TURBOCHARGER TURBINE HOUSINGS.
Announcement
Cat Reman announces an advanced salvage technique for turbocharger turbine housings which will affect the appearance of some turbochargers. Cat Reman has developed a process to salvage turbine housings, which involves removing the cracked region and using a metallurgically matched welding process which restores the integrity of the housing. The new material will have a slightly different appearance than the original material but its thermal properties ensure that it will expand and contract with the rest of the housing material. Effective immediately, dealers will see turbochargers both with and without the salvage process.
The new salvage process does not affect quality, reliability, durability, fit, or performance.
Effective immediately, some turbocharger turbine housings will begin to ship with with the salvage technique shown in Figure 2. Dealers will also continue to see turbocharger turbine housings which did not require this salvage process as shown in Figure 1.
