DISCONTINUATION OF MODERATE SERVICE (MS) SHOES FOR D9L TTT AND 350 HEX Caterpillar

Description of Change

The D9L TTT and 350 HEX Moderate Service (MS) track shoes are no longer manufactured. See Table 1 for service-replacement information. The MS trap hole shoes are replaced by Extreme Service (ES) shoes without trap holes.

The following serial numbers are affected.
D9L: 14Y

350: 2ZL, 3ML, 7RK, 8HK, 8KZ, 9DK, 9FL

Adaptable to -

This change is adaptable to the machines listed above.

Existing MS shoe parts inventory will be exhausted. However, when ordering full sets of shoes for an entire track, the replacement ES shoes should be ordered.

The MS shoe may still be ordered in small quantities for field service of existing tracks. The MS shoes and ES shoes are not compatible in the same track. If no MS shoes are available, then replace all shoes in the track with ES shoes.
