D4G/D3G TRACTORS WITH IMPROVED U/C LIFE

With introduction of the new ?G? Series TTT, machines from the factory are equipped standard with link assemblies containing a larger track bushing (54 mm) and tough steel segments.  The new designs will also be available through parts for the non-current TTT machines (D4C/B, D3C/B), and current and non-current track type loaders (931/933/935). Only machines equipped with sprocket segments can use the new larger stepped bushing link assemblies.  See Serviceability section page 2.

Features and Benefits

Adaptability 

The new tough steel segments and link assemblies are effective first production from the factory on D3G and D4G machines.  New stepped bushing, tough steel segments and link assemblies are now available in the parts department for the current and non-current machines.  Following are the serial numbers of machines from the factory with the new design:

New ?G? Series TTT machine serial numbers CKA & CLB sold in Japan will maintain the former design.

 

Serviceability

?        Only machines equipped with sprocket segments can use the new larger stepped bushing link assemblies.  Earlier ?B & C? series machines with weld-on rims or one piece sprocket can not accept the larger bushing due to sprocket/bushing mismatch.  Therefore, earlier machines must choose one of the options below at link assembly replacement:

?      Convert to sprocket segments by welding on a segment adapter ring (Part No. 6Y5499).  See Special Instruction SEHS7751 for details for this procedure.

?      Use the sealed link assembly with the former bushing, which fits the current sprocket and weld on rim tooth profile.

?        The former link assemblies will be service replaced by a new link assembly and (5) new tough steel segments.

?        The former bushing (50 mm diameter) part number 111-1522 will continued to be offered for repairing or replacing individual bushings in the former link assemblies.  If entire sets of bushings are required, the new bushing and seal group is available with the larger stepped bushings.

?        The former segment will be service replaced by the new tough steel segment.  To obtain maximum life improvement former and new segments should not be mixed.

?        Former segments must not be used with the new larger stepped bushing.  This could accelerate bushing wear or cause track ?popping? or ?jumping?.

?        The new segment can be used with former link assemblies and bushing (such as after bushing turn) without detrimental effect on bushing life.

?        The new segments are positively identified (similar to other tough steel segment) by the new part number, and by a ?scallop? under each tooth.  This is visible when observing sprocket segments mounted on the machine - see below
