NOTICE |
---|
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Test
- Position the machine on level ground.
- Stop the engine.
- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing And Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
- Install 9U-7400 Multitach Tool Group on the fan for the hydraulic oil cooler.
- Start the engine.
- Place the machine controls at the following settings: AEC switch OFF and engine speed dial "10".
Reference: Refer to Testing And Adjusting, "Engine Performance - Test" for engine rpm settings.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).
- Read the fan speed. Refer to Table 2 for the correct speed.

- If the fan speed is not within the specification, adjust the relief valve for the fan pump.
Adjust
- In order to adjust the relief valve pressure setting for the fan pump, loosen locknut (36) and turn adjustment screw (37) .
Note: Turning adjustment screw (37) clockwise increases the pressure. Turning adjustment screw (37) counterclockwise decreases the pressure.
Note: A quarter turn of the relief valve changes the pressure approximately 3300 kPa (480 psi).
Note: Always make final pressure adjustments on pressure rise.

- Adjust the relief valve pressure to the specifications in Table 3.
Note: In order to avoid hydraulic component damage, adjust the fan speed within the specifications in Table 3.
