Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Ensure that the main relief pressure is set to 35520 ± 345 kPa (5150 ± 50 psi).
Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve (Main)".
- Stop the engine.
- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system.
Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
- Set service code 92 temporarily to 4000 in order to prevent the machine from steering in the RABBIT (HIGH SPEED) mode. This is equal to 40000 kPa (5800 psi).
Note: Access to this service code requires a password. Refer to your Dealer Technical Coordinator or refer to AVSpare Service Engineering.
- Disconnect case drain hose (1) from connector (2). Install a plug 13/16 - UN in the open end of case drain hose (1) .
- Connect one end of remote drain hose to connector (2). Place the other end of remote drain hose into the container for measuring case drain oil.
- Start the engine and place the power mode switch in POWER MODE position.
- Place the engine speed dial at position "10". Maintain the maximum no-load speed at 2050 ± 50 rpm.
Note: The engine will not reach maximum no-load speed until the hydraulic tank pressure has reached the operating level.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).
- Move the travel levers for counterrotation. This should cause the machine to stall.
- Operate full travel control for one minute.
- Measure the amount of case drain oil three times. For each measurement, change the position of the travel motor.
The following values specify the maximum acceptable amount of case drain oil.
- New travel motor ... 0.3 to 0.5 L/min (0.08 to 0.13 US gpm)
- Rebuilt travel motor ... 0.4 to 0.8 L/min (0.11 to 0.21 US gpm)
- New travel motor ... 0.3 to 0.5 L/min (0.08 to 0.13 US gpm)
- Return service code 92 to the setting of 3400. This is equal to 34000 kPa (4930 psi).
