When the controller is replaced or the controller is reinstalled, the governor must be calibrated. The hydraulic oil temperature must be at approximately 50 °C (122 °F).
- Enter service code 70. The character display shows "70 P00". This indicates that calibration has not started.
- Depress travel alarm cancel switch (22). The character display shows "70 PSP". This indicates that the governor has completed the preparation for calibration.
- Start the engine.
- Depress travel alarm cancel switch (22) in order to begin calibration. While the controller is calibrating, the character display will indicate progress.

Table 1 Electronic Governor Calibration     Calibration Code     Description     "70 P00"     Prior to calibration     "70 PSP"     Ready to calibrate     "7003"     Determine the position of the governor actuator for high idle.     "7005"     Collect the position data for the governor actuator at engine speeds of 2000 RPM, 1500 RPM, and 1000 RPM.     "7007"     Collect the position data for the governor actuator at engine speeds of 1000 RPM, 1500 RPM, and 2000 RPM.     "7009"     Confirm the position of the governor actuator from the engine position 9 to position 1 on the engine speed dial.     "7010"     Confirm the position of the governor actuator from the engine position 2 to position 10 on the engine speed dial.     "70 End"     Complete
- When the calibration has been completed, the character display indicates "70 E nd".
Note: Depress power mode switch (19) and travel alarm cancel switch (22) and hold the switches for a minimum of 2 seconds in order to stop calibrating.
- If the display contains the letter "H", there is an error.
Depress travel alarm cancel switch (22). The code is indicated on the right three positions. Refer to 2.
Show/hide tableTable 2 Code     Display     Description     1     "70 HF 01"     Engine stops     1     "70 HF 01"     Engine stops     2     "70 HF 02"     The engine speed sensor is not functioning correctly.     3     "70 HF 03"     The engine is under load.     4     "70 HF 04"     Faster than the high idle speed of the engine     5     "70 HF 05"     Slower than the low idle speed of the engine     8     "70 HF 00"     Excessive hysteresis
- Perform the following operations when character display indicates "70 Hd 00".
- Depress fine control mode switch (25) and hold the switch until the character display stops blinking.
- Depress boom priority mode switch (23) or swing priority mode switch (24) in order to select data for calibration.
- Depress boom priority mode switch (23) in order to select the previous calibration data.
- Depress swing priority mode switch (24) in order to select the default calibration data.
- Depress travel alarm cancel switch (22) in order to store the selected calibration data.
- If "70 End" and a number are flashed on the character display, the speed of the engine is below specifications. The second number that is flashed is the actual engine speed. This number is displayed in the four positions on the right side of the display.
