To optimize the hydraulic system, the engine load speed must be set to match the hydraulic performance. The adjustment should be made when the main pump has been replaced or the engine has been replaced.
Note: Prior to the procedure, the proportional reducing valve on the solenoid must be set to the proper specification. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Main Pump (Proportional Reducing Valve) - Test and Adjust".
Test
- Prior to any adjustment, refer to the "Preparations" section in the Testing and Adjusting, "Operational Checks".
- Start the engine.
- Lower the left console.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).
- Place the AEC switch in the OFF position.
- Place the mode switch in the MODE III position.
- Check the engine speed at low idle. The engine speed should be 1000 to 1050 rpm.
- Check the engine speed at high idle. The engine speed should be 2380 to 2420 rpm.
- If the engine speed in low idle or high idle is not correct, perform the adjustment procedure.
Adjust
- Remove the cover from the governor actuator near the spring.
- Measure the length of the governor rod (A) between the two locknuts in order to ensure that the governor linkage is assembled properly.
Length of governor rod (A) ... 149 - 1 mm (5.87 - 0.04 inch)
