1.1. Visual Inspection Of The Hydraulic System
2.1. Visual Inspection Of The Mechanical System
3.1. Visual Inspection Of The Electrical System

------ WARNING! ------

Do not operate or work on this machine unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Contact any AVSpare dealer for replacement manuals. Proper care is your responsibility.

------ WARNING! ------

Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.

Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.

Perform the following visual inspection:

  • Look around the machine and under the machine for items such as loose bolts, trash, oil leaks, coolant leaks, broken parts, or worn parts.

  • Inspect the condition of the attachments, the hydraulic components, mechanical components, and the electrical components.

Correct all discrepancies that are found prior to continuing with the troubleshooting procedures.

Visual Inspection Of The Hydraulic System

------ WARNING! ------

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.

------ WARNING! ------

Do not check for leaks with your hands. Pin hole (very small) leaks can result in a high velocity oil stream that will be invisible close to the hose. This oil can penetrate the skin and cause personal injury. Use cardboard or paper to locate pin hole leaks.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from improperly checking for a leak.

Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak. Escaping air or fluid under pressure, even a pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue causing serious injury, and possible death.

If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.

Perform the following visual inspection of the machine hydraulic system:

  • Inspect all hydraulic lines, hoses, and connections for damage or leakage.

  • Measure the oil levels on the machine.

  • Inspect the hydraulic tank for the proper hydraulic oil level.

  • Inspect the machine for damaged hydraulic components.

  • Inspect the machine for loose hydraulic components.

Visual Inspection Of The Mechanical System

Perform the following visual inspection of the machine mechanical system:

  • Inspect the steps, the walkways, and the handholds for damage or wear. Repair the components that are damaged or worn. Inspect the steps, the walkways, and the handholds for cleanliness. Clean the components.

  • Inspect all control linkages for damaged components or broken components.

  • Inspect the machine for damaged mechanical components.

  • Inspect the machine for loose mechanical components.

Visual Inspection Of The Electrical System

Perform the following visual inspection of the machine electrical system:

  • Inspect the lights for broken bulbs. Inspect the lights for broken lenses. Replace the bulbs or the lenses if the bulbs or the lenses are broken.

  • Inspect the machine for loose wiring.

  • Inspect the machine for frayed wiring.

  • Inspect the machine for loose electrical components.

  • Inspect the machine for damaged electrical components.
