Operational Checks (Transmission)
The operational checks can be used to find leakage in the system and components that are not functioning correctly. The operational checks can be used to determine whether the pumps are functioning properly. The operational checks can also be used to ensure that the clutches properly engage through all SPEEDS. When you perform the operational checks, check for the following conditions:
- Abnormal noises in the transmission
- Abnormal noises in the pumps
- Abnormal engagement in the clutches through all SPEEDS
After you have completed the operational checks, inspect the power train for any leaking components, damaged components, or worn components.
ReferenceRefer to Troubleshooting, "Transmission" for further information concerning a problem and probable causes.
- Start the engine and allow the transmission oil temperature to reach the normal operating temperature.
- Operate the machine in the FORWARD direction and in the REVERSE direction while the machine is in the AUTOSHIFT mode. Operate the machine in all speeds for both directions. Ensure that the machine operates in both directions and all speeds.
- Operate the machine in all speeds while the machine is in the MANUAL mode. Use the transmission direction and speed control lever in order to operate the machine in all speeds. Operate the machine in both the FORWARD and the REVERSE directions. Ensure that the machine operates in both directions and all speeds.
- Stop the machine. Stop the engine. Inspect the power train components for any damaged parts or leakage.
