568 Forest Machine Machine Electronic Control System Using the Operator Monitor to Determine Diagnostic Codes

Use the following illustration to operate the monitor.

Note: The function of the buttons along the bottom of the screen are defined by the symbol displayed on the screen above each button.

The "DIAGNOSTIC" menu option is entered by selecting "SERVICE" from the "MAIN" menu. The next screen will prompt the service technician to enter the machine password for the service menu before proceeding. The password can be entered using the monitor screen or the switch panel keypad. Press the up key (1) or down key (4) until "DIAGNOSTICS" is highlighted to select the diagnostics option. Then press the "OK" key. Refer to Illustration 3.

When "DIAGNOSTICS" menu is selected, the following options are presented:

  • ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC CODES

  • LOGGED DIAGNOSTIC CODES

  • ACTIVE EVENT CODES

  • LOGGED EVENT CODES

The "LOGGED DIAGNOSTIC CODES" menu displays active errors in the CID - FMI format. Press the up key (1) or down key (4) to scroll through the logged diagnostic codes.

Press the "OK" key to see the list of logged diagnostic codes. Move the cursor to highlight the desired diagnostic code. Press the "OK" key to show the detail of the logged diagnostic code. The detail of a logged code will display the following items:

MODULE ID - Control module ID of the ECM that detected the error.

COMPONENT ID - Component ID that is in error status.

FAILURE MODE ID - Failure mode ID

OCCURANCE - The number of times the error occurred.

FIRST - The first time the error occurred.

LAST - The last time the error occurred.

WCI - The warning level for the occurrence.

When the detailed view of the "LOGGED DIAGNOSTIC" code is displayed, as in Illustration 6, the logged diagnostic code can be deleted or saved. Press the "DELETE" key in order to delete the logged error. The delete confirmation screen will appear. To confirm the delete request, move the cursor to the "YES" option and press the "OK" key. The logged diagnostic code can be saved by pressing the "SAVE" symbol. Refer to Illustration 7.

The "LOGGED EVENT CODES" menu displays logged events in the EID - LEVEL format. Press the up key (1) or down key (4) to highlight the desired item. Press the "OK" key to see the detail of the logged event. The detail of a logged event will display the following items:

MODE ID - Control module ID of the ECM that detected the error.

WCI - Warning Level

OCCURRENCE - The number of times that the error occurred.

FIRST - The first time that the error occurred.

LAST - The last time that the error occurred.

WCI - The warning level for the occurrence.

When the detailed view of the "LOGGED EVENT" menu is displayed as in Illustration 8, the logged events can be deleted or saved. Press the "DELETE" key to delete the logged error. The delete confirmation screen will appear. To confirm the delete request, move the cursor to the "YES" option and press the "OK" key . Refer to Illustration 9. The logged diagnostic code can be saved by pressing the "SAVE" symbol. Refer to Illustration 7.
