Start By:

  1. Remove the hood.

  2. Remove the muffler.

  3. Remove the fan.

  4. Remove the alternator.

  5. Remove the refrigerant compressor.

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery Disconnect Switch".

  2. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  3. Remove panels (1).

  5. Remove panel (3) and brace (4).

  6. Disconnect hoses (5). Disconnect hose (6). Disconnect the hoses and brackets (7) and (8). Disconnect harness assemblies (9). Disconnect hose assemblies (10). Disconnect grounding strap (11).

  7. Remove tube assemblies (12) and (13).

  8. Remove grounding strap (14). Remove bracket (15). Remove cable assemblies (16) from starter (17).

  9. Attach Tooling (A), Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and Tooling (D) to main hydraulic pump (20). Use Tooling (A), Tooling (B), and Tooling (C) in order to support main hydraulic pump (20).

  10. Attach a suitable lifting device to engine (18). The weight of engine (18) is approximately 525 kg (1158 lb). Remove bolts (19). Remove the engine mounting bolts . Remove engine (18).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine (18) in the reverse order of removal.
