Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.


  1. Open the hood.

  2. Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

  3. Remove bolt (1) and the washers. Remove panel (2).

  4. Disconnect cable assembly (5). Disconnect harness assembly (6). Loosen bolt (3) and remove the belt from alternator (4). Remove bolt (3) and bolt (7). Remove alternator (4).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install alternator (4). Install the washer and bolt (7) loosely. Install the washer and bolt (3) loosely.

  2. Install the belt and adjust the belt to the proper tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct adjustment procedure. Tighten bolt (7) and bolt (3).

  3. Connect harness assembly (6). Connect cable assembly (5).

  4. Install cover (2). Install bolts (1).

  5. Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
