Start By:

  1. Remove the piston pump.

  1. Loosen nut (1) and rotate elbow (2).

  2. Remove bolts (3) and control assembly (4).

  3. Remove bolts (5) and control assembly (6).

  4. Remove bolts (7), plate (10), and spacers (8).

  5. Remove position sensor (9).

  6. Remove O-ring seal (11) from position sensor (9).

  7. Repeat Steps 4 through 6 for the remaining position sensor.

  8. Remove retaining ring (12) and cover (13).

  9. Remove O-ring seal (14) from bearing flange (15).

  10. Remove bolts (16) from bearing flange (15).

  11. Use a suitable lifting device to remove bearing flange (15). The weight of bearing flange (15) is approximately 32 kg (70 lb).

  12. Raise temperature of bearing flange (15) to remove screws (17). Remove bearings (18) from bearing flange (15).

  13. Remove stop screws (19) and shaft assembly (20) from bearing flange (15).

  14. Remove retaining ring (21) from shaft assembly (20).

  15. Use a suitable press to remove bearing spacer (22) and bearing (23) from shaft assembly (20).

  16. Install Tooling (A) into barrel assembly (24). Use a suitable lifting device to remove barrel assembly (24). Lifting barrel assembly in this state weighs approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

  17. Remove Tooling (A) from barrel assembly (24).

  18. Remove gasket (25).

  19. Removing stroking piston (26) and counter-piston (27) from barrel assembly (24).

  20. Remove used Teflon seal (28) and O-ring seal (29) from stroking piston (26).

  23. Use Tooling (C) to remove locator bushings (34).

  27. Use a suitable press and Tooling (B) to remove bearing (40) from pump insert (38).

  28. Remove coupler (41), retaining ring (42), and impeller wheel (43).

  29. Use Tooling (D) to remove dowels (44).

  30. Install Tooling (E) into shaft assembly (45).

  31. Use Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to place the pump with the shaft pointing upwards. The pump assembly at this point weighs approximately 204 kg (450 lb).

  32. Remove bolts (46) from bearing flange (47).

  33. Use Tooling (F) and a suitable lifting device to remove bearing flange (47). The weight of bearing flange (47) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

  34. Raise the temperature of bearing flange (48) to remove screws (49) and bearings (50).

  35. Remove stop screws (51) from bearing housing (48).

  36. Use a suitable press to remove shaft assembly (45) from bearing flange (48).

  37. Remove retaining ring (52) from shaft assembly (45).

  38. Use suitable press to remove bearing spacer (53) and bearing (54) from shaft assembly (45).

  39. Install Tooling (A) into barrel assembly (55). Use a suitable lifting device to remove barrel assembly (55). Lifting the barrel assembly in this state weighs approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

  40. Remove Tooling (A) from barrel assembly (55).
