  2. Remove bolts (1) that hold sprocket (2) to the final drive.

    Illustration 3g00708688

Note: Use several washers between Tooling (B) and the sprocket, tol prevent damage to the sprocket.

  3. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to sprocket (2). The weight of sprocket (2) is approximately 40 kg (88 lb).

  4. Remove sprocket (2).

  3. Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of bolts (1). Install bolts (1) that secure the sprocket to the final drive.

  4. Tighten bolts (1) in a crisscross pattern to a torque of 150 ± 25 N·m (111 ± 18 lb ft). Turn bolts (1) to an additional angle of 35 ± 5 degrees.

  5. Refer to Service Magazine, M0083843, "An Improved Bolt Tightening Procedure for the Critical Joints Is Now Used on All Excavators" for more detail information.
