Note: Put identification marks on all hoses for installation purposes. Plug all hoses. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.

  1. Make sure that the engine start switch is in the OFF position.

  1. Open the access door on the left side of the machine.

  1. Disconnect hoses (2) and (4). Use Tooling (A) to cap the hoses, and use Tooling (A) to plug the elbows on the water separator.

  1. Remove bolts (1), and remove water separator base (3) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Make sure that the engine start switch is in the OFF position.

  1. Open the access door on the left side of the machine.

  1. Position water separator base (3) on the mounting bracket, and secure the water separator base with bolts (1) .

  1. Connect hoses (2) and (4) to the water separator base.

  1. Start the engine, and inspect the water separator for leaks.
