Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the vibratory support. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Vibratory Support - Remove".

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

1. Remove adapter (1) from housing (9).

2. Remove O-ring seal (5) from adapter (1).

3. Remove plugs (6) and (7) from housing (9).

4. Remove the O-ring seals from plugs (6) and (7).

5. Bend the tab on washer (3) away from nut (2).

6. Use Tooling (A) to remove bearing nut (2) from spindle (12).

7. Remove washer (3).

8. Position housing (9) in a press. Use Tooling (B) and the press to remove bearing cone (8), lip seal (13), and spindle (12) from housing (9).

9. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to remove bearing cone (8) and lip seal (13) from spindle (12).

10. Remove bearing cone (4), seal boot (11), and bearing cups (10) from housing (9).
