Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be cleaned thoroughly in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before operating any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

After collecting all fluids in suitable containers, dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Apply 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound to all of the seals during assembly.

  1. Install link (10) .

    Illustration 6g00735224

  1. Check the wear in the rotor set before assembly. Position the rotor as the rotor is shown in Illustration 6. Use a feeler gauge to check the clearance in the rotor set. The clearance should not exceed 0.1270 mm (0.005 inch). If the clearance is greater than the amount that is specified, replace the rotor set.

  1. Install rotor set (8) and plate (9) together.

Note: Installing the rotor set and the plate together will retain the rotor set in the assembled form. This step will maintain the same contact surfaces between the rotor vane and the stator.

  1. Make sure that the initial alignment mark is aligned. Install seven bolts (1) into the gerotor motor. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 75 N·m (55 lb ft). Refer to Illustration 12 for the proper tightening sequence.

  1. Rotate the gerotor motor in the soft jawed vise so that the gear can be installed onto the output shaft. Heat gear (13) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F).

  1. Apply Tooling (A) to the hole in gear (13) and to setscrew (15) .

  1. Use insulated gloves to install gear (13) on output shaft (14) .

  1. Install setscrew (15) .

End By: Install the gerotor motor.
