Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to, "System Pressure - Release".

------ WARNING! ------

Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.

Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.

Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

  1. Position the bucket on the ground.

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (1) that supplies oil to the head end of the stick cylinder.

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (7). Remove bolts (4) and pin assembly (3). Remove bolts (5) and pin assembly (6). Remove stick cylinder (2). The weight of stick cylinder (2) is approximately 57 kg (125 lb).

Note: Tooling (B) is for the removal and installation of the bearings that at the rod end and the head end of the stick cylinder.

(1) Torque for the nut ... 1720 ± 70 N·m (1269 ± 52 lb ft)

(2) Torque for the head ... 637 ± 63.5 N·m (470 ± 47 lb ft)

(3) Lubricate the sealing lip slightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(4) Apply Tooling (A) to the groove prior to assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install stick cylinder (2). The weight of stick cylinder (2) is approximately 57 kg (125 lb). Install pin assembly (6) and bolts (5). Install pin assembly (3) and bolts (4). Connect hose assembly (7) .

  1. Connect hose assembly (1) that supplies oil to the head end of the stick cylinder.
