Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to, "System Pressure - Release".

------ WARNING! ------

Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.

Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.

Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes in order to prevent fluid loss and to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, thoroughly clean the exterior of the component in order to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

  1. Position the boom so that the boom is in the straight ahead position. Place the bucket on the ground.

  1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

  1. Open the side hood.
