Assembly Procedure

Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. If necessary, replace the O-ring seals.

1. Install springs (27) into the pilot valve assembly.

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

2. Install the following items onto spool assembly (20) : washer (26), shims (25), spring (24), sleeve (23) and collar (22) (not shown).

3. Install bolt (21) (not shown) into spool assembly (20). Tighten bolt (21) to a torque of 5 ± 1 N·m (45 ± 9 lb in).

4. Install spool assembly (20) into the pilot valve assembly.

5. Install the following items onto spool assembly (14) : washer (19), shims (18), spring (17) and sleeve (16) .

6. Install bolt (15) (not shown) into spool assembly (14). Tighten bolt (15) to a torque of 5 ± 1 N·m (45 ± 9 lb in).

7. Install spool assembly (14) into the pilot valve assembly.

8. Install shims (13) onto both of the spool assemblies.

9. Install O-ring seal (12) onto each sleeve (10). Install rod (11) into each sleeve (10). Install sleeves (10) into the pilot valve assembly.

10. Position housing (9) onto the pilot valve assembly. Install bolts (8). Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 13 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft).

11. Install camdrive (7) into the pilot valve assembly.

12. Install pin (6) into the pilot valve assembly.

13. Tighten setscrew (5) to a torque of 10 ± 1 N·m (90 ± 9 lb in).

14. Position lever (4) onto the pilot valve assembly. Install bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 30 ± 3 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).

15. Install adjusters (2) into the pilot valve assembly.

16. Install boot (1) onto the pilot valve assembly.
